usbprog 3.0 - the new hardware! After six successful months there is now a new hardware for USBprog. It's not a new development but an improvement of the old one. My primary objective was a 100% compatibility to the old version 2.0. The circuit diagram and the important details are available in the download area! What improvements does the new version have? - 8 IO-lines are lead out on the 10-pole plug
- freely selectable allocation (with a jumper) of the VCC line on the 10-pole socket (VCC, seperated or with protection diode)
- additional jumper for firmwares as configuration tool
- protection diodes and resistors for a long durability
- freely selectable if a USB-B socket or a USB-A plug shall be mounted
- all parts are mounted on the top side
- SMD parts are pre-mounted
- only the big parts have to be soldered by oneself
Adjustable VCC pin | | | no connection
| 5V directly over USB
| 5V over Schottky diode over USB
| Connectivities and jumper jumper | - 8 IO ports, (alternatively SPI) port B from the ATMega32 + VCC and GND
- Jumper can be used as a switch in a firmware (PA7)
- Reset jumper control (plugged controlable from the ISP plug)
- VCC power supply options
- LED controlable from the firmware (PA4)
- UART connector + VCC and GND
- Power LED

Is usbprog 2.0 compatible to version usbprog 3.0? Yes, to 100%! And new firmwares will be developed in a way that they will also work everywhere as long as it's possible. |
